During the COVID 19 crisis, we remain ‘open’ and ‘at work’ full time. We are receiving a lot of instructions from International Trade and Shipping clients and their insurers as the effects of COVID 19 impact world trade. In particular, we are assisting clients with non-performance issues under international sale and commodity contracts, charterparty cancellations and a wide range of Force Majeure and exclusion clause issues and disputes.
LMAA, LCIA and ICC London arbitrations are proceedings as usual, albeit that oral hearings are not taking place in favour of Documents Only and telephone conference hearings.
Away from Shipping and International Trade, we are advising construction industry clients on the closure and suspension of building sites and other commercial clients who have COVID 19 related issues with banks, other financial institutions and with sub-contractors.
